Book Adventure
Writing a quilt book was never really on our bucket list.  Still today, we look back and wonder how we did that!
In the latter part of 2008, with the encouragement from our friends, we submitted our new technique for string piecing using no show mesh stabilizer to F + W Media.  Why not, they can’t eat you.  All they can do is say no.  Much to our surprise, Christine Doyle, acquisition editor for F + W was not only interested but guided us through the process of approval for the book AND sent our proposal to Nancy Zieman!!  Nancy agreed to include our book in her Create With Nancy Series.  Somebody, please pinch us, we must be dreaming.
In December of 2009, we received the call from Christine that our book had been accepted for publication.  In February 2010 we signed our contract that specified a book release date of August 2011.  From that point forward, there was a flurry of fabric shopping and color choices.  Strings were going in every direction as our two sewing machines raced against the clock.  Sixteen quilts, writing introductions and directions for 13 projects, 3 book reviews, a trip to Cincinnati for a photo shoot, a trip to Wisconsin for a DVD shoot later, here we are looking forward to where the future will take us.  Whew, what a ride.

Several of our friends volunteered to make quilts for the galley section of our book.
